Image 1:
This image was created using the app "Painter". The process began with a rough sketch, drawn on paper which was seen in the previous blog. The brush used for this sketch was called "Waxy Pencil" in the size 23x. Small touch ups were made using the eraser brush "solid pen". I decided to use this image, as a sketch is the basis of all fashion creations. The table of contents is most often at the beginning of a magazine, setting an idea for the entire design. The color will remain black and white, creating a neutral pallet for the page. Other elements on the page will feature more color, drawing out the sketch. While the drawing does not have much color, the components of the clothing give it life. The design is inspired by Harris Reed's spring 2022 collection, with the large hat and curvy leg and hip form.
Image 2:

Due to the sizing of the page, the quality of this image is reduced, but when put on a mockup of the table contents, the quality is greatly accelerated. This image features a Pothos cutting delicately placed inside a "The Ordinary" bottle. This image was cut out from its original background and placed on a white background to eventually match the table of contents page. The colors in this image are more prominent than the lack of color in Image 1, as there is a combination of greens, whites, and almost pinks. The use of this image was designed to showcase the beauty aspect of Eudaimonia Magazine, as the previous image highlighted the clothing side. The image represents clean beauty products, as the clear, minimalist bottle is shown to advertise factual production and adds no excess promotions. Inside the bottle is the plant, tying into the idea that the product is simple and "all natural". Originally, this photo was supposed to be of a nail polish bottle, but the decision was made to use this image to highlight multiple aspects of the beauty industry.
Revisions:
The creation of this image was because of the low quality and lack of volume of the actual photograph. I drew over the image of the plant in the bottle above, and added and extra leaf to create volume. This drawing is higher quality and matches the sketch. The contrast between the sketch and the photograph looked cheap. Instead the use of a drawing matches the sketch and the aesthetic of the page. The meaning behind the plant in the bottle is still the same, but the look is more animated.
